I have an old road map and Laughlin, Nevada isn't even on it. But it's a mini-Las Vegas on the shore of the Colorado River, as close to L.A. as you can get and still be in Nevada. One thing about casinos, the hotel rooms are cheap. So that's why I stayed on the fake riverboat hotel, "Colorado Belle".

The room was okay, though I couldn't plug in the modem (that's why I'm uploading a day late). They had a microbrewery with decent beer and a smarmy lounge band. I breathed smoke for a while, watching fat people dance, and then gave it up and went to sleep.

Drove on through the desert, cool Joshua trees on the road to Nipton. How come U2 named their alblum that, these don't grow in Ireland, right???
