First, a little bit about this trip.

I've wanted to be on the road for over a month. I finished working in mid-October, and intended to go to the Paradox Conference and continue on from there.

But it was not to be. The Fusuzu blew a head gasket and there I sat.

My new project is with Barry Brilliant, who loaned me a Powerbook and digital camera for work and play. We are developing a business in which the Web site, Makeacoolcard.com plays a central role. And on the road, I'm keeping in touch.

Bottom line. The Fusuzu is fixed. I'm outa here.

Spent Thursday tying up loose ends in Sausalito, made it on the road about 3 p.m., just in time to hit the Bay Area traffic that extends to Los Banos...

Traveling with me in her ravishing RAV4 is the lovely Laura, a friend of a friend traveling in the same direction. I was about an hour behind her Thursday night, we ended up crashed out in a KOA near Lake Isabella. One tree, $18 a night.
