Texas Trip November 2005

Did my good deed for the year on this trip - closed escrow on "Casa de Muchos Fussos", a four bedroom, two bath, three story house two blocks from the beach. No, it didn't cost anywhere near what it would in California.

Bought it from Jim and Claudia who are the parents of Ryan who works for my son Noel in construction. Lots of construction down there, I think it will be a good investment. But the main reason for buying it was to give Noel and Janette and the kids a nice place to stay. I'm their landlord! I was going to say no pets but they love their little dog Chica, so whatever. Very sweet animal when not releasing bodily fluids. Arf!

I am really proud of them, they are raising the World's Best Grandsons. Working hard and doing a great job of that child raising thing, for sure that's what's important. It was a really wonderful visit, hanging out on the beach, having a house warming party, eating way too much for a Californian, but hey I'm on vacation. Janette's dad Joe cooked duck and goose for the BBQ, yum!

Grandpa's magic credit card helped with new furnishings...Jim and Claudia, and I both bought wine glasses to celebrate the closing, so Noel and Janette will need to have more parties.

It's a nice laid back town, there's even a recording studio and theatre down the street. I saw a sign for a Kinky Friedman for Governor rally there so Joe and I went down and gave our support. Guess I've got an interest in Texas politics now, yipes!.

All in all the best time I've ever had in Texas!
